SC-Project uses their MotoGP, Moto3, Moto2 and Superbike racing experience to push the limits and develop the highest level of exhaust performance The CR-T, a multiple World-Champion muffler, is the most widely recognized design of the SC-Project exhaust For 2018, the 800 RR had to meet Euro 4 regulations, which are far stricter both in terms of exhaust emissions and sound. Brian Gillen told us that MV went to great lengths to identify and minimize mechanical noise. For example, the cylinder heads now have a new bolt which serves only as a harmonic damper. Evidence of worn guides is that the 45 deg sealing surface is 2 to 2,5 mm wide or wider. (New this dim is 1.2 mm.) All this results in the clearance tightening, which causes the valve head to run hotter, becoming weaker and possibly burning or breaking. The valve spring seats do wear, but this is not an alarming thing.
